Bio-based Building Blocks @ 11th International Conference on Bio-based Materials

The 11th International Conference on Bio-based Materials (15-16 May 2018, Cologne, Germany) will show the diversity of the Bioeconomy

++ Already more than 80 participants registered & 14 exhibitors ++ Final programme online ++ The conference is well established and one of the biggest in Europe. We expect more than 200 participants, mainly from industry. ++

Meet: ++ AkzoNobel ++ Arkema ++ Avantium ++ BASF ++ Biopetrolia ++ Borregaard ++ Braskem ++ Clariant ++ CLIB2021 ++ Cosun ++ Covestro ++ DIN CERTCO ++ DuPont ++ Eastman Chemical ++ European Bioplastics ++ Evonik ++ FKUR ++ Fraunhofer ++ Haldor Topsoe ++ IBB ++ INEOS ++ Klüber ++ Neste ++ NNFCC ++ Reverdia ++ SOLVAY ++ Suiker Unie ++ Südzucker ++ TECNARO ++ Tecnon OrbiChem ++ TNO ++ Total Corbion ++ UPM ++ VITO ++ VTT ++ WUR ++ and many more

In 2017 and 2018, most investments in Bioeconomy flowed into the core area: bio-based building blocks and platform chemicals. The capacities show a two-digit yearly growth. Based on this, new building blocks, new bio-based polymers, coatings, surfactants and others will follow. “For the conference, we were able to get the leading companies worldwide to Cologne –  a unique opportunity to meet the pioneers in the field at one place”, says Michael Carus, Managing Director of organizer nova-Institute. In addition the latest market data and policy trends will be presented at the conference by international experts.

Innovation Award “Bio-based Material of the Year 2018″!

For the 11th year in a row, the prestigious Innovation Award "Bio-based Material of the Year 2018" will be granted to the young, innovative bio-based chemicals and materials industry for finding suitable applications and markets for bio-based products. The focus of the award is on new developments within these areas, which had been launched in 2017 or will be launched in 2018. The advisory board will make a preselection of all applications and narrow the field down to a “Top 6” new materials and products. The final decision will be made by the conference participants after the nominees presented their innovations. Applications are open by mid of April 2018.
