Session Environmental Solutions & 2 valuable Comments on bio-based Materials: Conference on Bio-based Materials

The 11th International Conference on Bio-based Materials (15-16 May 2018, Cologne, Germany) will show the diversity of the Bioeconomy

++ Almost 140 participants registered, more than 200 are expected ++ 18 exhibitors ++ Final programme online ++ The conference is well established and one of the biggest in Europe.

Katharina Haag Fraunhofer IFAM (DE) „By using bio-based fillers, we can not only adjust the material properties and their morphology, but can also achieve an optimum cost-performance ratio for applications such as, e.g. mulch films.“
David Thomas VTT (FI) "Muconic acid, the versatile sugar-based platform chemical for bio-based nylon-6,6.”

Bio-based building blocks and polymers as well as biotechnology provide solutions to environmental problems. The session "Environmental Solutions" will highlight some particular developments in this area. These include PHA polymers that are highly biodegradable, enzymes and bacteria that convert PET waste into new polymers, sustainable bio-based solvents, new packaging solutions and the utilisation of waste from the orange juice production into new biopolymers. An exciting conclusion to the conference! Take a close look to the programme:

Innovation Award “Bio-based Material of the Year 2018″!

For the 11th year in a row, the prestigious Innovation Award "Bio-based Material of the Year 2018" will be granted to the young, innovative bio-based chemicals and materials industry for finding suitable applications and markets for bio-based products. The focus of the award is on new developments within these areas, which had been launched in 2017 or will be launched in 2018. The advisory board will make a preselection of all applications and narrow the field down to a “Top 6” new materials and products. The final decision will be made by the conference participants after the nominees presented their innovations. Further information here.

Only a few exhibition booths available!

The fee of an exhibition booth (6qm) is 500 EUR (excl. 19% VAT). We provide you a table, table cloths, a pin board, a chair and a power connection. You are welcome to use your own booth system. Please submit Mr. Dominik Vogt  your preferred booth number, a printable logo and a company profile.
